The Fisher family history in the feature article of the sports section is simply amazing. For a family to produce seven Division I athletes is almost mind-blowing. For a town as small as Eufaula was then, to produce so many athletes that earned scholarships to college is incredible.

The Selmons, Fishers, Rusty Griffis, Noah Palmer, Donald Jones, J.C. Watts, Lamar Armstrong and many other athletes that came out of Eufaula all had one thing in common: coaching. Hall of Fame coaches Perry Anderson and Paul Bell developed these athletes and taught valuable life lessons that made each of them wonderful citizens.

It just goes to show how important the role of a coach is and the responsibility and dedication an athlete has to make.
