Checotah Track and Field meet hosts most events

The Checotah Track and Field meet on Thursday was a success for most events. Checotah could not host the long jump or pole-vault due to not having the facilities. However, multiple schools participated and competed in the daylong events.

In the boys’ team division, Beggs won the meet with 80 points followed by Harrah (66) and Luther (63) to round out the top three. Checotah finished eighth with 32 points.

In the girls’ team division, Tahlequah Sequoyah won with 117 points followed by Prague (80) and Sallisaw (79). Checotah finished 16th with eight points.

Checotah highlights consisted of placing 9th in the boys’ 4×100 relay and the girls placed 8th in the 4×800 relay. Checotah freshman Izzy Ruiter finished 12th in the 100-meter hurdles and Abigail Cook placed 28th.

Checotah placed 4th in the boys’ 4×800 relay. Jaidyn Wolfe was 8th in the 100m hurdles and Jaydon Casey was 15th.

The Checotah girls placed 7th in the 4×200 relay and the boys placed 10th overall.

Ruiter and Shaynne Madewell placed 21 and 25 in the 100 meters run. Jayden Ellen placed second in the 100-meter dash.

Ruby Folkner placed 5th in the 3200 meter run. Nikia Carr was third in the 400-meter run. Tyler Orman and Hudson Pollard placed 14th and 15th in the 400-meter run.

Jaidyn Wolfe placed 4th in the 300m hurdles and Jaydon Casey was 18th. Marcus Lollis placed 9th in the 200-meters.

The Checotah Lady Wildcats and the boys’ team placed 7th in the 4×400 relay. Brian Love placed 7th in the discus. Tyler Orman won the boys’ high jump with a jump of 5-08.00 and R.J. Womack placed third.
