The Jim Lucas Checotah Public Library is nearly halfway through our summer reading program, but there is still plenty of time to sign up, win prizes, and enjoy more summer events!
You can earn rewards just for reading this summer through July 30. You can sign up at eols.beanstack.org, or visit us at the library, and we will help you register.
We have rewards for readers of all age groups when they log up to 1,000 minutes of reading. Additionally, everyone who completes the Summer Reading Challenge earns ten entries into a prize drawing at the end of the summer.
Our summer programming events in May and June have kept our patrons busy and entertained, and we have more fun planned throughout July.
We are looking forward to seeing “Buckaroo” Bart Taylor at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 11. The folks from OKC Improv will perform at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 21.
At 6 p.m. that day, we will have a special pink-themed Movie Night. Rene will teach us how to create “hidden pictures” using lemon water.
Yours truly will be crafting some fun comic book wallets. Laura has a watercolor constellation art event planned for the teens, while Erikah will be teaching us how to make cute origami art.
We have a “water day” planned for the last Friday in July. Finally, the summer reading program will wrap up with our Prize Day at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30.
