Get ready for 90 days of traffic disruptions.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) have revealed plans to improve Main Street (US-69B) in Eufaula.
Work begins after Labor Day, Sept. 1, and is expected to take about 90 days to complete.
Most of the construction will take place at night to minimize delays, officials say.
The project includes rehabilitating the driving surface and repaving it with new asphalt.
New curb-and gutter sections will be added, and some existing portions will be reconstructed to improve drainage.
The parking spaces, crosswalks, ramps, and warning lights will be updated to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
The project begins just south of town near Twin Cities Ready Mix and extends north about one mile to Elm Avenue.
