Eufaula runningback Peter Lee out with injury

Eufaula Ironhead running back Peter Lee will miss the preseason and scrimmages with an injury. Lee sustained an abdominal hernia and has already had a successful surgery to correct the problem.

“I was doing an abdominal exercise when I felt something pull. But I will be ready to go in the regular season,” Lee said.

The senior running back plays a major role in the Ironheads offense under offensive coordinator Josh Luna. As a junior Lee ran for 1,506 yards on 197 carries with 15 touchdowns averaging 7.64 yards per carry. Lee also finished with 11 receptions for 148 yards and a touchdown.

Eufaula scrimmages Morris on Aug. 22 at Morris and Warner on Aug. 28 at Eufaula. Regular season starts Sept. 5 at Vian.
