Join the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation and Quail Forever for its Quail Habitat Management Field Day Friday, Aug. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Packsaddle Wildlife Management Area. The field day is for any landowner or hunter interested in managing property for bobwhite quail.
Topics covered include habitat management for bobwhite (especially for weather events such as drought), incentives for invasive species control, importance of invertebrates for game birds, best recommended plants for quail food plots, and habitat restoration that works in Oklahoma.
Lunch will be provided by the Covey Rise Chapter of Quail Forever. The event will take place at the Packsaddle WMA Research Station. The entrance is located 4.2 miles east of the intersection of Hwy 283 and County Rd. 77.
