Two commercial vehicles collided on the morning of Aug. 12 at I-40 and US 69 in McIntosh County resulting in the death of one of the drivers, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Dead is Patrick D. Weller, 50, of Council Hill. Injured is Orlando D. Duran, 62, of Van Buren, Ark.
The OHP did not provide any other details about the accident.
However, Justin Baker, owner of Heritage Waster Management, stated the accident took place one mile south of I-40 on southbound SH-69 when a Heritage truck driven by Weller was struck from behind by a Kenworth T680 tractor-trailer.
Baker released this statement following the accident: “We are truly devastated by the sudden passing of our driver Patrick Weller. He was loved by all the team and especially his customers on his routes. He will be greatly missed. Please continue to pray for his immediate family, as well as his work family, to find peace and comfort during this difficult time.”
