The Checotah Wildcats (5-3) roared past the Muldrow Bulldogs on Saturday, cruising to an 8-1 victory at the Okmulgee Festival.

Checotah wasted no time setting the tone. In the top of the first inning, Aurora Madewell ripped a single to left and Shaelynn Casey followed with a double to center, each driving in a run to put the Wildcats on the board.

The Lady Wildcats kept the pressure on in the second, capitalizing on a hit-by-pitch, a fielder’s choice from Shyanne Madewell, and a passed ball to widen their early lead.

In the circle, Shaelynn Casey was sharp and steady. The hurler gave up just one hit and one unearned run across four innings of work, striking out two and not allowing a single walk. On the other side, Muldrow’s Jaydin Dean struggled out of the gate, surrendering three hits and three runs in the first inning.

Aurora Madewell powered the offense, finishing 2-for-3 at the plate and driving in three runs to lead the Wildcats.

Muldrow’s Haven Nickson was a bright spot for the Bulldogs, go- ing 1-for-2 and recording his team’s only hit.

Checotah’s all-around dominance—timely hitting, clean defense, and commanding pitching— secured another big win and showcased just how dangerous this squad can be.

Johnson powers Lady Wildcats past Stilwell with 4 RBIs

The Checotah Lady Wildcats exploded at the plate Tuesday, storming past the Stilwell Lady Indians 16-4 behind a monster performance from Jasmine Johnson, who drove in four runs on two clutch singles. Johnson plated two runs in the seventh inning and added another RBI knock in the fourth to fuel the Lady Wildcats’ offense.

After breaking through in the third inning on a fielder’s choice, Checotah unleashed a seven-run barrage in the top of the seventh. Lexi Miller ripped an RBI single, Carly Dismukes doubled in a run, Shaelynn Casey blasted a two-run double, Teagan Madewell added an RBI single, and Johnson capped the rally with another two-run single.

In the circle, Shaelynn Casey was steady and strong, going the distance with seven strikeouts while allowing just four runs (three earned) on seven hits.

Checotah’s bats stayed hot all night, racking up 15 hits. Miller and Dismukes each collected three hits, while Sydnie West, Layna Vandiver, and Casey tallied multiple hits of their own. Shyanne Madewell was a spark on the base paths, swiping two of Checotah’s four steals in the game.

For Stilwell, Cadence Ross and Aiden Ross each had two hits, with Ross, Taylee Sawney, and Baylee Birdtail driving in runs for the Lady Indians.

With patience at the plate, speed on the bases, and timely hitting, the Lady Wildcats proved too much to handle in a decisive 16-4 victory.

Checotah falls to powerhouse performance by Sequoyah

The Checotah Lady Wildcats ran into a redhot Sequoyah squad Thursday night, falling 8-0 to the Lady Indians.

Sequoyah wasted no time grabbing momentum, plating their first run in the opening frame when Emma Culie singled in a runner. Culie struck again in the second inning, blasting a three-run homer to center field that broke the game wide open. Waleli Hummingbird added to the fireworks in the fifth with a solo shot to right field, giving Sequoyah all the offense they needed.

In the circle, Checotah’s Shaelynn Casey battled through four innings, allowing seven hits and eight runs (five earned), while striking out one. Sequoyah’s Mia Stopp was dominant on the other side, tossing five scoreless innings while allowing just one hit, striking out two, and walking none.

Shyanne Madewell recorded Checotah’s lone hit, going 1-for-2 at the plate.

Culie was unstoppable for Sequoyah, going for a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBIs. Hummingbird chipped in two more hits, while Preslie Daniels anchored the defense, recording seven plays as Sequoyah finished the game errorfree.

Dismukes’s big day powers Checotah to 10-0 rout of Hulbert Carly Dismukes delivered a monster performance at the plate Thursday, racking up three hits to lead the Checotah Lady Wildcats to a commanding 10-0 victory over the Hulbert Lady Riders. Dismukes doubled in the fourth inning and added singles in both the first and third to pace Checotah’s offense.

The Wildcats came out swinging in the first inning, exploding for six runs. An error plated two, Aurora Madewell worked a bases-loaded walk, Sydnie West ripped an RBI double, and Teagan Madewell grounded out to bring in another run, putting Hulbert on their heels early.

Checotah kept the pressure on in the second as West doubled again, driving in a run, before another error allowed one more to score. Shaelynn Casey added to the tally in the third with an RBI fielder’s choice, stretching the lead to 9-0.

Casey also shined in the circle, tossing four scoreless innings while scattering three hits, striking out three, and not issuing a walk.

Checotah’s bats stayed hot, collecting 10 hits overall. West and Layna Vandiver each drove in two runs to back the offense.

For Hulbert, Sadie Chambers, Carley Hiatt, and Haley Rohde each picked up a hit, but the Lady Riders couldn’t overcome Checotah’s early barrage.

With a relentless start and airtight pitching, the Lady Wildcats rolled to a shutout win, proving once again they’re a force to be reckoned with this season.
