He’s the Neal McCoy
By RENEE DUKE

I can say, I feel that fall is just around the corner for us! The early mornings are cool and crisp. I love all things fall! It is also that time of year for me to head to Texas.

Why you ask? It is almost East Texas Angel Network weekend.

Let me tell you a little bit about ETAN and its founders. The East Texas Angel Network was founded by Neal McCoy and his wife Melinda in 1995.

ETAN was established to make a difference in the lives of families who have children with severe health issues. Neal had performed at a ben- efit concert for an individual who had a life threatening medical issue.

He and wife Melinda decided, instead of doing individual benefit concerts, they could do a big benefit each year to be able to help several families in need.

ETAN was then a dream. Now, ETAN is more than just a dream. The McCoys, thus far have raised $12 million to fund families in need.

This small town Texas boy doesn’t do things in a small way! These funds are raised through donations from sponsors and individuals as well as the ETAN annual festivities. Proceeds benefit the ETAN. The ETAN is a 501 C-3 organization. All donations are tax deductible.

Neal starts the weekend off Friday morning with the Pledge of Allegiance, then on to the ETAN Golf Tournament, Dinner for ETAN sponsors and to wrap up the weekend on Saturday, a concert hosted by Neal.

Neal has had numerous Artists in the music industry who volunteer to perform for the concert and benefit the cause. This year, Ms. Pam Tillis will be a guest performer. I can’t wait to see Pam again.

There is a raffle for numerous items as well. You can go online to sign up for the raffle. (Easttexasangelnetwork. com) Did I mention anything about the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders that show up? It is definitely worth the trip. It is not too late; tickets for the concert are still available.

If you are still thinking, “Who is Neal Mc-Coy”? Let me introduce you to one of the nicest guys in country music.

Neal has been in the music industry for decades and was first signed to a record deal in 1990.

He is known for hits such as “No Doubt About It” or “Wink” and one of my favorites “Billy’s Got His Beer Goggles On.” He has 10 albums and 34 singles and is quite the entertainer to say the least.

I can hardly put into words that accurately describe Neal McCoy. He is high energy, yet one of the most down to earth individuals you will ever meet. He makes every show personal and I can promise each show is always different, leaving you wanting to see the next show. He has an incredible connection with his fans and has an incredible loyal following.

Neal is known for his generosity and dedication to help charitable causes. He has entertained our troops and is an avid social media influence.

When you read this article on Thursday, September 25, 2025, Neal will have recited the pledge of allegiance 3,545 times in a row!

Neal is joined by a huge following of fans and friends that join him to recite the pledge of allegiance every day.

I asked Neal, how long do you intend to recite the pledge on social media.

Neal said, “I don’t know, but I haven’t been able to sleep in, in a very long time!”

Neal is just a very special person, he is making a difference!
