The Checotah Art Guild started a new monthly contest called “The Artist Challenge.” Each month the CAG will pick a theme for a chance to win a gift card from Hobby Lobby, etc. It is for art members only or for anyone who wants to join the guild.

The September challenge was “Abstract” and Vicki Strike won with her painting in oil.

The October challenge will be “Scarecrows.”

“It is time for members to renew their annual membership and we would love for new members to join us as well,” CAG president Cheryl Moseley said. “The charge is only $25 per year and we have so much fun and fellowship. Members are encouraged to come on Tuesday and Thursday for open art, as are visitors.

“Open Art welcomes visitors to come and see what the CAG is all about. There is no charge for these art days except for the first Tuesday of each month when there is an instructed class which cost members $5 and visitors $15 to participate. “Come see what the CAG has to offer!”
