A juvenile from Indianola has died as the result of a tire blowout that caused a collision on the Indian Nations Turnpike at mile marker 75 in Pittsburg County on Monday, Oct. 6.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol the youth was severely injured and died Wednesday, Oct. 8, at about 1:30 p.m. at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
The OHP reported that the teenager was northbound on the turnpike when his vehicle had a blowout, departed the road to the left and struck the center concrete barrier.
After striking the barrier his vehicle became disabled in the roadway and was struck in the driver’s side by a vehicle driven by Oscar Estrada, 42, of McAlester.
The extent of Estrada’s injuries was not revealed in the OHP report.
