AREA FOOD DRIVES

Haltom’s Huddle Holiday Food Drive

Haltom’s Huddle Holiday Food Drive is underway.

Help feed those in need in McIntosh County this Christmas.

Gathering canned or dry food through Dec. 19. Drop off at the Eufaula Indian Journal or the Mc-Intosh County Democrat.

Turkey Dinner Turkey Drive

Local businesses and individuals are raising money to feed families of up to five this year.

Their goal is $10,000, and they have raised $8,515 so far.

Contact Rob Underhill on Facebook on how to nominate a family in need.

Nominations must be in by Nov. 21. Meals must be picked up from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. on Nov. 24 at Watson’s BBQ in Checotah.

FCCLA and BPA Food Drive at CHS

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America and Business Professionals of America are hosting a “Feeding Our families” Food Drive to support CHS students in need. The FCCLA Chapter will be preparing hot meals that are easy to take home and heat up for the whole family. They will also offer prepackaged options like ramen or macaroni and cheese cups.

Drop off donations of canned goods, boxed meals or dried fruit in one of the food drive boxes around the high school or bring them to Rooms 206, 208 or 201.

Ava Rose Johnson/Community Counselors Group and True Value Holiday Food Drive Ava Rose Johnson partners with Community Counselors Group and True Value in a Holiday Food Drive to help support families impacted by the recent government shutdown and cutbacks.

Donate canned goods, boxed meals and other shelf-stable foods at True Value’s designated dropoff locations in Eufaula, Checotah, Quinton, Wilburton, Stigler, Hartshorne, Sallisaw and Poteau until November 23.
