Fishing on Lake Eufaula remains steady as winter approaches, with anglers finding success across multiple species as water temperatures slowly cool.

Crappie continue to be the hot ticket. Anglers are reporting good numbers in 8–14 feet of water along brush piles, docks, and creek channels. Jigs in chartreuse, blue/white, and monkey milk remain consistent producers, while live minnows are catching the bigger slabs. The bite has been best during mid-morning and late afternoon when fish move up to feed.

Bass fishing has been fair to good. Largemouth are holding tight to structure with the colder weather, especially around rocky points, riprap, and deeper timber. Alabama rigs, crankbaits, and softplastic creature baits are getting solid strikes. Some anglers are also picking up spotted bass near bluff walls and the mouths of creeks using finesse worms or small swimbaits.

Catfish action is steady. Blue cats are biting cut shad and chicken liver in 10–20 feet near river channels. A few flatheads are still being caught on live bait around submerged logs and creek mouths. With colder days ahead, look for the deeper bite to improve.

White bass and hybrids are showing up in scattered pockets, especially where gulls are feeding. Small spoons and jigging slabs will pick up active fish when they’re chasing shad.

Lake levels remain near normal, and water clarity is slightly stained in the north and clearer toward the dam. As always, watch the wind—Lake Eufaula can get rough quickly this time of year.
