Special angels from around the county selected angels from the tree to give Checotah Nursing & Rehabilitation a “Golden Christmas” this year. The project was sponsored by the Checotah Art Guild to benefit the residents at the nursing facility and spread some Christmas cheer.
Members of the CAG and board members from the Heartland Heritage Museum & Gallery helped to wrap and deliver gifts for every resident for Christmas.
“The Checotah Art Guild had the joy of delivering gifts to every resident at Checotah Nursing Home this year, and we couldn’t be prouder of the incredible support from our community and surrounding communities!” Iris Park said. “A huge thank you to the Checotah Art Guild for once again leading this amazing effort! Every year, we come together to gather gifts, and this year was no exception! We’re truly grateful for the generous contributions from all community members who helped make this happen.”
Even when there were 25 angels left on the tree, Heartland board member Spring Morrow called on other board members and friends who helped with the last angels and went above and beyond for the local residents even to help deliver all the gifts.
“Let’s keep the spirit of giving alive and bright! Here’s to bringing smiles and warmth to our beloved residents this holiday season!”
