The Sallisaw Black Diamonds edged Checotah 4941 in the opening round of the Henryetta Knights Tournament. It was a highflying opening period as both teams scored 17 points. Sallisaw had a hot hand from the perimeter while Checotah drove the paint and shot from the arch. It was back and forth as Wes Brown and Koyah Littleman led the Wildcats from the guard position. Hudson Pollard did a good job of defending the paint along with Cole Rolland. But Sallisaw outscored Checotah 11-8 to take a 28-25 lead into the halftime break.
