Do you know someone whose life’s mission is to help those in need? Is there someone who puts others above themselves and makes an impact on the community and those around them without looking for recognition?

Nominations are now open until Feb. 10 for the McIntosh County Democrat’s Citizen of the Year. This award is handed out yearly at the Checotah Chamber Banquet.

Nominees should be someone who has done selfless deeds or acts of kindness to benefit the community throughout the year.

The Citizen of the Year will be announced at the Chamber of Commerce annual Membership Banquet on Tuesdy, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. at the First Free Will Baptist Family Life Center, located at 713 N. Broadway.
