Shamrocks, sneakers and shenanigans

The 5th Annual Eufaula Green Run 5K returns Saturday, March 14, inviting runners, walkers and costume-wearers of all ages to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day the Eufaula way: lakeside, lively and dressed in green. The race, sponsored by the Lake Eufaula Association, begins at 9 a.m. at the Eufaula Cove Pavilion on Lakeshore Drive and follows a USATFcertified 5K course along the shoreline of Lake Eufaula.

This isn’t just a race, it’s a green party. While participants are required to wear green, they’re encouraged to take it several steps further with creative costumes, playful accessories and even themed outfits for their four-legged companions. Awards will be given for the best St. Patrick’s Daythemed costume and the always-popular pet costume contest.

The Green Run atmosphere leans more toward celebration than competition, making it welcoming for serious runners and casual walkers alike. Music, food trucks, local vendors and wellness offerings will fill the pavilion area, creating a festival-style setting that keeps the energy high from start to finish.

Those who register by March 1 will receive discounted registration rates and a guaranteed event T-shirt. After that date, shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Whether you’re chasing a personal best, strolling with friends or just there for the laughs and leprechaun vibes, the Eufaula Green Run offers a spirited way to kick off St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Registration and event details are available at runsignup.com/ eufaulagreenrun, Kelly at 918-470-7527 or Rhonda at 918-6897751.
