CHECOTAH – Myrna Ann (Dunegan) Johnson, 70 passed away Monday, February 16, 2026. Services are pending.

EUFAULA – Sandra Jean Basham, 79, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on February 14, 2026.

In keeping with her wishes, the family plans a small, family gathering at a later date.

BIXBY – Jerry Trent Young, 85, peacefully passed from this life on Friday, February 13, 2026, in Tulsa, OK. Services are pending.

CHECOTAH – Murray Morse, 91, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026. A memorial service was held Wednesday, February 18 at the Westside Free Will Baptist Church in Checotah, OK.

CHECOTAH – Betty Louise Rhodes, 95, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Services are pending.

HITCHITA – Ronald Ray Hester, 73, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 21 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Thunderbird Chapel in Norman, OK.

EUFAULA – Larry Ray Box, 63, peacefully passed from this life on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at his home in Eufaula, OK. No services scheduled at this time.

CHECOTAH – Vernon Leroy Marion, Jr., 72, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026. There are no services scheduled at this time.

CHECOTAH – Richard Dean Alfred, 40 passed away Monday, February 9, 2026. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 20, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Serenity Chapel of Garrett Family Funeral Home in Checotah, OK.

EUFAULA – Charles Simpkins, 55, peacefully passed from this life on Sunday, February 8, 2025 in Eufaula, OK.

KINTA –Hazel Gene “Jean” Daniels, 78, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Services were held February 11 at R.E. Sherwood Memorial Chapel.

CHECOTAH – Jimmy Ray Lashley, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026. A Graveside Service was held February 11 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Checotah, OK.

WARNER – Robert Lee Sample, Jr., 84, transitioned to “Everlasting Life” on Friday morning, February 6, 2026, in Warner, OK, with his loving family by his side. The Hour of Remembrance for Robert will commence on Thursday, February 19 at 2 p.m. in the most holy sanctuary of New Hope Baptist Church in Oktaha, OK.

EUFAULA – Karen Irene Vaughn, 82, peacefully passed from this life on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at her home in Eufaula, OK. No services planned at this time.

EUFAULA – Sandra Amelia Ashbolt, 82, peacefully passed from this life on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 in Eufaula, OK. No services planned at this time.

CHECOTAH – Joe D. Parks, 57, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026 in Tulsa, OK surrounded by those who loved him dearly. In keeping with Joe’s wishes, he chose to be remembered not through ceremony, but through the life he lived and the light he was to others and no formal services will be held.

PORUM – Larry George Drabek, 76, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 14 at 4 p.m. at Freedom Baptist Church in Porum, OK.

CHECOTAH – Bennie Duane Pittman Jr., 73, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026. No services are planned at this time.

EUFAULA – Jerry Fink, 80, passed away at his home in Eufaula, OK, Friday, January 30, 2026. No services are planned at this time.

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY – Guy “Guyford” Gifford Longcrier, 62, formerly of Checotah, went to his Heavenly home on Friday, January 30, 2026. A family-conducted memorial service was held February 13 at the Checotah Community Center.

LENNA – Sharla Elaine VanBrunt, 54, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026 in Lenna, OK. Funeral services were held February 2 at Integrity Chapel.

ENTERPRISE – Crystal Denel Peden, 46, passed away in Tulsa on Friday, January 23, 2026. Funeral services were held January 29 at the Quinton Event Center.
