This year LaDonna Rhodes aka “The Paper Lady” with the McIntosh County Democrat had the privilege of announcing the Citizen of the Year award which went to Freedom House Adult & Teen Challenge with director Kathy Love accepting the prestigious award. “Each year, our little world stops to pay tribute to this town’s Silent Hero, Member of the Year and Booster of the Year chosen by the Chamber board,” Rhodes said. “However, at the McIntosh County Democrat, we take nominations for our Citizen of the Year who plays such an important role in our local community and blazes a trail, leading others to follow their selfless path to promote others and their town.
