On March 26 Checotah FFA traveled to Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton for the CDE Contest, and they represented their town well.
The Senior Livestock Judging Team was the 9th Overall Team.
Jade McPeak was 6th High Individual.
The Meats Evaluation Team was the 15th Overall Team.
Avery Williams was the 23rd High Individual!
After the CDE Contest in Wilburton, two FFA members headed to Jenks for their annual speech contest and brought home some wins as well.
Speech results included: Jade McPeak – 1st Place Agriscience Rylee Howell – 2nd Place Jr. Extemporaneous Then April 1, though it may have been April Fool’s Day, Checotah Livestock Judging Team weren’t fooling round at the NEO Livestock Judging Contest in Miami, Oklahoma.
The Senior Livestock Judging Team was the 6th overall team. They were also 8th High Team in Reasons, 10th High Team in Sheep and Goats and Champion Overall Team in Swine.
Team members include: Jade McPeak, Rylee Howell, Shayla Dismukes and Sophie McGuire.
Jade McPeak placed well in several categories. She was the 4th High Individual Overall, High Individual in Swine, 8th High Individual in Reasons and 4th High Individual in Cattle.
Rylee Howell was the 21st High Individual Overall and the 15th High Individual in Swine.
Shayla Dismukes was the 2nd High Individual in Swine.
The Junior Livestock Judging Team was the 8th Overall Team. They were also 12th High Team in Reasons, 7th High Team in Sheep and Goats, 4th High Team in Swine and 13th High Team in Cattle. Junior Team members include: Brody Lovett, Katie Dismukes, Lariat Lovett and Daisy Prince.
Brody Lovett was 13th High Individual Overall, 13th High Individual in Sheep and Goats and 13th High Individual in Swine.
“Congratulations to these team members on an outstanding day,” FFA Advisor Zach Ilbery said. “Everyone put in the work and it showed. We are incredibly proud of all of these students for their hard work, dedication, and representing Checotah FFA at a high level in multiple events even on the same day and throughput the month. This is what it means to be committed!”
