Last week State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister announced that the Oklahoma State Department of Education awarded four federal grants totaling $15.2 million to support districts in meeting the needs of students. Checotah Public Schools was among those schools and will receive $228,000 a year for the next five years.
