The Checotah Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Checotah Meat Company on Friday, August. 6. Checotah Meat Company is owned by Hunter Schleve and is located at 214 Viteo Guest Ave. They are a slaughterhouse that is open Monday through Friday from 8 a .m. to 5 p.m. and they sell retail to their customers. There were free burgers cooked for the special day, featuring McCutchen?s Cattle Call Ranch beef. Several door prizes were also given away as many local Checotah residents and business owners came out to enjoy a burger and socialize, even in the sizzling summer sun. STAFF PHOTO
