Checotah City Council took action to authorize the mayor to execute a cross deputation of the Checotah Police Department and the Muscogee Nation LightHorse Police Department during their last meeting on Monday, Aug. 9 at City Hall. The motion was moved by Councilman Tony Fields and seconded by Councilman Ronnie Brinsfield to authorize Mayor Daniel Tarkington to execute a cross deputized agreement with the City of Checotah Police Department and the Muscogee Nation Light- Horse Police Department. The motion was carried unanimously with Councilmen Brinsfield, Fields, Mike Key, Earnie Myers, Christopher Robison, William Wiles, Councilwomen Jodi Greenleaf and Jerri Reaves all voting yes.
