The Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS), along with the Friends of Honey Springs, helped to host The Battle of Honey Springs film premiere which highlighted history on a whole new forum on August 28. Director of Honey Springs Battlefield Adam Lynn stated he was more than pleased at the incredible turnout for the film premiere, which by the last showing had standing room only. An estimated 200 or more people came to the five separate showings and over 160 people stayed for the reception that followed.
