Season ends for Eufaula Lady Ironheads

The No. 15 ranked Eufaula Lady Ironheads (20-11) saw their season come to an end on Friday in Shawnee in game two of the regional tournament as the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs edged Eufaula 8-6. The Bulldogs came out swinging for the fences as they scored a run in the first inning and three runs in both the second and third innings to take a 7-3 lead. Eufaula battled back with arun in the fifth but Muldrow answered with another run of their own to make the score 8-4.

Makayla Harjo took the loss for the Lady Ironheads.

She pitched six innings, allowing 11 hits and eight runs while striking out one. Harjo was effective with the bat also as she hit a homerun in the third inning.

Allie Anderson and Maddie Ballard each hit home runs in the game as Eufaula racked up 11 hits. Ballard and Harjo each went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs, Anderson l-for-3 with a RBI and Avery Williams went 2-for-3 with a RBI.

In game one the No. 2 ranked North Rock Creek Cougars rolled to a 24-5 victory of Eufaula. The first two innings were very competitive as the game was 5-4 in favor of North Rock Creek. The Cougars hit a homerun in the first inning, scoring two runs.

Eufaula battled back with three runs in the second inning.

North Rock Creek found the sweet spot as they scored 11 runs in the third inning and added eight more in the fifth as they hit five home runs in the game. The Lady Ironheads found a spark as Maddie Ballard hit a homerun in the fourth inning. Ballard finished going 2-for-2 with an RBI, Kate Pippenger went l-for-2 with an RBI and Kambry Willliams and Rayleigh Petterson each went l-for-2.

North Rock Creek finished with 16 hits on the day.
