DEATH NOTICES

EUFAULA – Kay Lynn Padgett, 55, passed away on January 17, 2024 at her home. A memorial service was held Friday, January 26 at Lindsey Chapel Baptist in Eufaula, OK.

MUSKOGEE – Dr. Ellis Phillip Couch, 82, passed away, January 18, 2024 in Muskogee, OK. A memorial service will be held at Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame on April 20 and interment at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

MUSKOGEE – Jonathan Loyd McElmurry, 43, entered Heaven’s gates on Friday, January 19, 2024. A memorial service was held Saturday, February 3 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel.

KEOTA – Corene (Wood) Rouell, 88, went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2024. Graveside services were held Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Old Cache Cemetery in Keota, OK.

CANADIAN – Margaret Adele Lawson, 60, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at her home in Canadian, OK. A memorial service was held Wednesday, January 24 at Valley View Full Gospel Church in Ft. Gibson, OK.

KEEFETON – Dana Rhea Arnwine Croftcheck, 50, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Dana’s life was celebrated Friday, January 26, 2024 at Keefeton Trinity Baptist Church.

HENRYETTA – Kenneth Ray Cook, 97, formerly of Onapa, passed away on January 23, 2024, in Henryetta, OK. At the request of Kenneth, no services will be held at this time.

HENRYETTA – Howard Lee Vaughn, 69, passed peacefully on January 25, 2024, surrounded by his wife, daughter, and family in his home in Weleetka, OK. A graveside service was held January 31 in New Senora.

OKMULGEE – Bonita Ethel Wood, 71, died January 25, 2024, in Henryetta, OK, after a long illness. A memorial service was held Friday, Feb. 9 at Integrity Chapel in Henryetta with a graveside service that followed at the Hanna Cemetery.

STIDHAM – Marilyn Kaye (Brown) Boone, 82, passed away on January 27, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A memorial service was held Friday, Feb. 2 at Stidham Baptist Church.

EUFAULA – Margaret Ann Dobbs, 63, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. A graveside service was held Thursday, Feb. 1 at Greenwood Cemetery Pavilion in Eufaula, OK.

CHECOTAH – Paula Ralston Thompson, 54, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024. A private memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, February 17 at Stidham Baptist Church.

CHECOTAH – Dorothy Marie Brown, 77, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024 in Muskogee, OK. A memorial service was held Thursday, February 1 in Garrett’s Serenity Chapel, Checotah.

EUFAULA – Harold Haltom, 92, died on Monday, January 29, 2024. Services were held Friday, February 2 at Hunn Black & Merritt Funeral Home in Eufaula, OK with inurnment to take place at a later date at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

EUFAULA – Floyd Smith, 79, passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023. The Celebration of Life will be held Friday Feb. 9 on what would have been Floyd’s 80th birthday. The time and location of the service will be: The Barn at 417832 SH-150, Checotah,OK, from 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. The family wants all friends and family to come share their stories about Floyd and who he was to them.

VAN BUREN, AR Paul Raymond Staton, 74, formerly of Council Hill, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024. Graveside services were held Friday, February 2 in the Council Hill Cemetery.

MUSKOGEE – Carol Lee Fairchild, 65, formerly of Council Hill, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Azalea Gardens Memory Care in Muskogee, OK. A funeral service was Friday, February 2 at Hunn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Checotah, with interment was at Council Hill Cemetery.
