At the recent Oklahoma Press Association conference in Shawnee at the Grand Casino and Resort, Shauna Belyeu was awarded for 25 years of service in the newspaper business and inducted into OPA Quarter Century Club.
Belyeu graduated from Northeastern State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice prelaw with an associate’s degree in journalism and business administration.
Belyeu began her newspaper career at the McIntosh County Democrat and The Eufaula Indian Journal in 1999. She started as a sales representative but was promoted to advertising manager of the two publications in 2022 and to general manager in 2006.
Belyeu was elected to the OPA Board of Directors in 2018 and currently serves as OPA President. She has chaired multiple OPA committees and is also a board representative of the Oklahoma Newspaper Foundation.
