TULSA — Insurance industry veteran Bob Sullivan announced today his candidacy for Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner, vowing to fight for families, small businesses, and homeowners who are being crushed by the highest insurance rates in America.
Sullivan, a 4th-generation Oklahoman, Conservative Republican, and Certified Risk Manager, says it’s time to take on Big Insurance and end the insider politics that have allowed rates to skyrocket while families struggle to stay insured.
“Oklahoma families are paying more for insurance than anyone in the country,” said Sullivan. “That’s not because of the weather— it’s because career politicians and weak regulators let Big Insurance run the show. I’ve spent 20 years in the insurance trenches. I know their tricks, and I’m ready to fight for the people who actually pay the premiums.”
With two decades of experience as a property and casualty insurance expert, Sullivan says he’s uniquely qualified to bring balance and accountability to an industry that’s gotten too comfortable taking advantage of Oklahomans. His campaign will focus on lowering rates, restoring competition, and holding insurance companies accountable for slow-walking claims and hiding behind fine print.
“I’m not a politician — I’m a professional who knows how this industry really works,” Sullivan said. Sullivan’s platform centers on Oklahoma-first, conservative reform: – Lower sky-high insurance rates and demand transparency from Big Insurance – Hold insurers accountable for delays, unfair practices, and price gouging – Recruit A-rated carriers to restore competition and consumer choice – Protect homeowners and small businesses from runaway premiums – Defend conservative values — Pro-Life, Pro-2A, Pro-Business, Pro-Trump A lifelong Oklahoman, Sullivan and his wife Jennifer live in Inola with their two children. He faithfully attends Calvary Baptist Church and is an active community volunteer and past president of multiple Tulsa-area nonprofits.
“I love this state. I was born here, raised here, and I’m raising my kids here,” said Sullivan. “Until God calls me home, I’m going to do everything in my power to fight for Oklahomans— and that starts with making insurance fair again.”
