The Eufaula Lady Ironheads (7-6) managed to outlast Colcord 37-31 in the opening round of the Warner Eagles Cherokee Classic on Thursday. It was a tough win as Colcord came out and hit a three-pointer to start the game but Olivia Hamby scored in the paint followed by Johna Bumgarner hitting her first three-pointer of the game. This game was going to have to be won in the paint and Hamby, Ava Neill and Ariel Greenlee would be the key. Eufaula led 11-8 to end the first half and would come out the second period fast. Lauren Gray would make a steal and score followed by two Greenlee’s rebounds and put backs to extend the lead to 17-8.
