Get ready for a weekend of fun, food and friendly competition at the 18th Annual Checotah Chili Cook-Off this Saturday, Feb. 28!
This year competitors will set up at the First Free Will Baptist Life Center at 713 N. Broadway in Checotah to compete for bragging rights of the best chili in the county plus $500 for 1st place. The runner up will win $250 and 3rd place will take home $100. People’s Choice will win $150 and the Best Table Décor will also take home some money.
Competitors must be set up by 3:45 p.m. so judging can start by 4 p.m. Then the doors will open at 5 p.m. to the public.
The cost for all-youcan- eat chili is $8 for adults and $6 for children age 7-11. Children under 5 eat free. This includes samples of chili from all the tables, plus a drink and homemade dessert.
There will be two auctions – a silent auction and a live auction. There will also be a gun raffle and door prizes!
Don’t forget to pick up a commemorative t-shirt or sweatshirt with all proceeds for the evening benefitting the Heartland Heritage Museum & Gallery.
