The Eufaula Ironheads put together one of the most successful campaigns in program history, finishing with 28 wins and earning a trip to the state tournament — a milestone that reflected months of hard work, resilience, team chemistry and coaching.
In just his first season at Eufaula, head coach Grant Callison brought back a topnotch team that fans could be proud of with discipline and integrity. Eufaula established itself early as a force, stringing together wins behind a balanced attack and a defense that consistently created problems for opponents. Whether it was fast-paced scoring runs or grinding out tough possessions, the Ironheads found ways to win in a variety of situations.
Their postseason push showcased the team at its best. Eufaula battled through a competitive playoff bracket, delivering clutch performances and key stops when it mattered most. Each win brought growing confidence — and a belief that the Ironheads belonged among the state’s elite.
By the time they punched their ticket to the state tournament, the Ironheads had not only built an impressive record, but also a reputation for toughness and composure under pressure.
The run was fueled by strong leadership and contributions up and down the roster. Veteran players set the tone, while younger contributors stepped up in big moments, highlighting the depth that made Eufaula dangerous throughout the season.
Though the state tournament marked the end of the journey, it also cemented the legacy of this group — one that will be remembered for raising the standard of Ironhead basketball.
With 28 wins and a trip to state, Eufaula didn’t just have a great season — they delivered a year that will stand as a benchmark for those who follow. Although more players contributed to the season, it is with great pleasure to announce the following as the 2026 Eufaula Indian Journal (EIJ) Players of the Year.
2026 EIJ Most Valuable Player is Jentry James.
The senior played all 31 games, shot 37% from the three-point arch, was 101 of 126 at the free throw line, led the team with 108 defensive rebounds, assists 125 and steals with 98. He finished with 457 total points scored.
2026 EIJ Defensive Player of the Year is Ty Sparks. The senior guard made 86 steals, forced 52 turnovers, made 121 assists, grabbed 33 defensive rebounds and shot 33% from the field. His energy on the court is incomparable with any player I have ever covered. Sparks was a machine for the Ironheads.
2026 EIJ Co-Offensive Player of the Year is R’Reon Morrow.
Morrow is an extremely smooth shooter and when hit can score from anywhere on the court. He shot 37% from the three-point arch scoring 255 points, shot 83% from the free throw line, grabbed 90 total rebounds, made 44 steals, seven blocked shots, 53 assist while scoring 507 points.
2026 EIJ Co-Offensive Player of the Year is Keaton Parish. The senior forward moved the mark up from last season. Parish’s off-season work in the weight room paid off. He was lethal from the outside and was physical in the paint. He played all 31 games, shot 47% from the field, 26% from the three-point arch, 61% from the free throw line, grabbed 85 offensive rebounds and 132 defensive rebounds. He also made 70 steals, blocked 14 shots, made 77 assists while scoring 362 points and passed the 1,000 point make for his high school career.
