Ironheads rally late, outslug Okemah in 9-7 Thriller
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR,

The Ironheads had to fight for it — and delivered when it mattered most.

Eufaula outlasted Okemah 9-7 in a back-and-forth battle Thursday, using a clutch sixth-inning surge to seal the win.

After falling behind early, the Ironheads answered fast. Jax Williams sparked the of- fense with an RBI single, and Ben Sanchez followed with a basesclearing groundout to give Eufaula a 4-1 lead in the first.

Okemah clawed back to tie it and later grabbed a 6-5 lead in the sixth, but the Ironheads weren’t done.

Eufaula erupted in the bottom of the inning, taking control for good. Traven Fry delivered a key triple, Williams stayed hot with another RBI knock, and a pair of hit-by-pitches brought in two more runs as the Ironheads surged ahead.

Williams led the charge, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, while Sanchez drove in two runs. Kace Bell added two hits as Eufaula piled up nine runs on eight hits.

On the mound, Fischer McAllister battled through nearly six innings, striking out an impressive 13, while Beau Tarron came in to help close it out.

Defensively, the Ironheads were flawless, committing no errors in a clean, disciplined performance.

Okemah kept pressure on with 11 hits, but Eufaula’s timely hitting and late-game execution proved to be the difference as the Ironheads held on for the hardfought victory.

Sallisaw erupts early, overpowers Ironheads

A 12-run first inning set the tone as Sallisaw rolled past the Eufaula Ironheads 19-0 on Monday, using an explosive start to put the game out of reach early.

Sallisaw’s bats came alive immediately, stringing together hits, walks and timely swings to build a massive lead before the Ironheads could settle in. The onslaught continued in the second inning with seven more runs, as Sallisaw piled up 16 hits and kept constant pressure on the base paths.

Despite the tough start, Eufaula battled throughout, but Sallisaw’s momentum proved too much to overcome.

On the mound, Sallisaw’s starter dominated, tossing three hitless innings while striking out eight to keep the Ironheads off balance.

Sallisaw also showed discipline at the plate with eight walks and aggressiveness on the bases with six stolen bases, while playing error-free defense.

The Ironheads will look to regroup and bounce back as they continue their season.

Sallisaw sweeps Ironheads

Sallisaw jumped out fast and never looked back in a 13-0 win over Eufaula on Tuesday.

Sallisaw scored four runs in the first inning and added four more in the second, capitalizing on walks and errors to build a commanding lead. A five-run third inning put the game out of reach.

Dagen Grizzle led the way on the mound, throwing two 2/3 hitless innings with five strikeouts. Rylan Eagle paced Sallisaw at the plate with two hits, while Grizzle and Easton Wolf each drove in two runs.

Kace Bell took the loss for Eufaula, which battled but couldn’t overcome Sallisaw’s early surge and aggressive base running.
