Wildcats unleash offensive onslaught in shutout of Spiro
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR,

Checotah came out swinging — and never let up.

The Checotah Wildcats erupted early and rolled to a dominant 12-0 shutout over the Spiro Bulldogs on Tuesday, overwhelming their opponent with explosive offense, aggressive base running and lockdown pitching.

The Wildcats wasted no time setting the tone, plating four runs in the opening inning behind RBI singles from Taten Ferguson, Mason Rainbolt and Jake Patterson. That early surge was just the beginning.

Checotah blew the game wide open in the second, erupting for six runs on five hits. Ferguson sparked the rally with a two-run double, while Cale Thompson and Patterson added RBIs to keep the pressure on. The Wildcats’ relentless approach at the plate and on the bases left Spiro scrambling.

Two more runs in the third pushed the lead to 12-0 and sealed the rout.

On the mound, Eli Patterson was in command, allowing just one hit over three scoreless innings while striking out five. The Wildcats’ de- fense backed him up flawlessly, playing error- free ball with Ace Wilhite leading the way with six defensive chances.

Ferguson led the offensive charge with three RBIs, while he and Patterson each collected two hits. Checotah also wreaked havoc on the base paths, swiping eight bases, with Ferguson and Kross Stauffer each recording multiple steals.

Spiro managed just one hit in the contest, coming from Jackson Spears.

With the win, the Wildcats continue to build momentum, showcasing a balanced attack that’s proving tough for opponents to handle.

Wildcats dominate early, roll to 10-1 win over Glencoe

Checotah took control early and never let go, powering past Glencoe 10-1 Friday behind a balanced offensive attack and steady pitching and great coaching by Levi Walker and staff.

The Wildcats improved to 17-2 overall with the victory.

After Glencoe scratched across a run in the first, the Wildcats answered immediately. Mason Rainbolt sparked the rally with a double, and Checotah capitalized on a wild pitch to take the lead for good. The Wildcats broke it open in the second, highlighted by a two-run single from Taten Ferguson and an RBI double from Cale Thompson.

Checotah continued to pile on in the third, stretching the lead with timely hits from Rainbolt and Thompson.

Ace Wilhite set the tone on the mound, allowing just two hits and one run over five innings while striking out five to earn the win.

At the plate, Checotah racked up nine hits, with Rainbolt, Ferguson, Muhammad Rehman and Kross Stauffer each collecting two. Thompson and Rainbolt drove in two runs apiece, while Stauffer added pressure on the bases with two steals as part of a foursteal effort.
