Eufaula Indian Journal names Lady Ironheads Players of the Year
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR

The Eufaula Lady Ironheads turned in a memorable season marked by determination, teamwork and standout individual performances, and several players are now being recognized for their contributions.

Under the leadership of head coach Jason Radomski, the Lady Ironheads developed into one of the area’s most competitive teams, showing growth, resilience and heart throughout the year.

The Eufaula Indian Journal announced its 2026 Players of the Year honors, recognizing the athletes who helped fuel the Lady Ironheads’ success.

Senior Johna Bumgarner was named the 2026 EIJ Most Valuable Player after serv-ing as the cornerstone of the team’s success. Bumgarner averaged 13 points, five rebounds and four steals per game while shooting 35% from 3-point range and 71% from the freethrow line. Her impact extended far beyond the stat sheet. Whether scoring in clutch moments, controlling the pace of the game or providing leadership on the floor, Bumgarner consistently delivered when the Lady Ironheads needed her most.

The 2026 EIJ Co-Offensive Players of the Year are Olivia Hamby and Ariel Greenlee.

This pair of dynamic contributors gave Eufaula a strong offensive presence throughout the season.

Greenlee used her quickness, size and court awareness to create opportunities for herself and her teammates. She provided energy and consistency on the offensive end and proved to be a reliable scoring option during key stretches of games. Greenlee averaged five points, six rebounds and two blocked shots per game while shooting 58% from the field.

Hamby brought toughness and versatility to the offense, whether attacking the basket, hitting timely shots or helping facilitate the offense. Her presence gave Eufaula added balance and helped keep opposing defenses on edge. Hamby averaged eight points, seven rebounds and three assists per game.

The 2026 EIJ Co-Defensive Players of the Year are Lauren Gray and Hannah Needham.

They earned recognition for their relentless effort and defensive intensity.

Needham set the tone with her defensive awareness and toughness. She consistently battled for rebounds, contested shots and made it difficult for opponents to find easy scoring chances. She led the team with three steals per game while also averaging three assists, five rebounds and three points per contest.

Gray also played a key role on the defensive end, using her determination and work ethic to shut down opposing players. Whether diving for loose balls, forcing turnovers or stepping up in crucial moments, Gray’s contributions were vital to the Lady Ironheads’ defensive identity. She averaged two steals, three rebounds and two assists per game.

Radomski’s leadership played a major role in the Lady Ironheads’ success. His ability to develop players, build chemistry and instill confidence helped the team improve throughout the season. The result was a balanced squad that competed with intensity on both ends of the floor every time it took the court.

The honors from the Eufaula Indian Journal reflect not only individual achievements but also the team’s overall success. The Lady Ironheads showed teamwork, perseverance and dedication all season, making it a year to remember for players, coaches and fans alike.
