Jade McPeak served as a page for Senator Avery Frix this past week at the Capitol. Jade is finishing up her junior year at Checotah High School and continues to represent her school and community quite well.
“I’ve known Jade and her family for many years and her strong work ethic is evident in everything she does,” Rep. Frix stated. “It was truly a privilege to have her at the Capitol.” Through the Oklahoma House Page Program current high school juniors and seniors get the unique opportunity to learn how state government works as they step inside the Oklahoma Capitol and experience the legislative process firsthand.
During a week at the Capitol, Pages:
• Shadow their Representative and observe daily legislative activities
• Learn how to read and debate bills in a mock legislative session
• Participate in leadership and civic engagement activities
• Build friendships with students from across Oklahoma
Prior to serving as a page, Jade also had the opportunity to attend the OAEC 2026 Oklahoma Youth Tour orientation as this year’s group of young leaders get ready to travel to Washington D.C. in June.
At the orientation 70 high school students from across Oklahoma came together to represent their state, their co-ops and their leadership abilities. Their day started with Sen. Dossett, a former OK Youth Tour delegate, setting the tone for what they will be experiencing in D.C. during their oncein- a-lifetime class trip which will set many students up with nationwide connections, years of leadership experiences and more travel opportunities as well.
