Eufaula

Eufaula.

In game two the Ironheads dominated the Hugo Buffalos 11-4. Carson Luna’s sacrifice fly scored one run for the Ironheads in the first inning and Eufaula didn’t look back. They scored a run in the first, third and fifth innings before scoring six runs in the sixth and added two more runs in the seventh to win 11-4.

Draven Gragg got the win from the pitcher’s mound for Eufaula. The junior went five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and struck out an impressive eight batters. Eufaula collected seven hits in the game. Adcock went 2-for-3 with an RBI, Hayden Robinson 2-for-4 with an RBI and Brett Pippenger went 1-for-3.

“It was a great day for Eufaula baseball. It took the whole team to sweep these guys (Hugo). I’m so proud of how they faced adversity and overcame it. I thought we played a good game. We didn’t commit any errors in game one and we really had some great production at the plate today. We’re going to enjoy these victories today and think about who we’re going to face in regionals tomorrow. I’m just so happy for these guys. They’re a special group of players,” Eufaula head baseball coach Josh Luna said.

Eufaula will travel to Bixby May 4 to play Claremore Sequoyah at 1:30 in regional action.

On Monday Eufaula lost to Preston 10-5. The Pirates scored four runs in the first inning and put the Ironheads in a large deficit to start the game. It would be too much to overcome. Preston scored two runs in the third, fourth and sixth innings to seal the win.

Jaxon Lange started the game on the mound for the Ironheads. He surrendered four runs on two hits in three innings, striking out two.

Hayden Robinson and Carson Luna each came in as relief. Eufaula tallied 10 hits. Luna went 2-for-3, Kaden Bumgarner 2-for-4 and Hicks 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs to lead Eufaula at the plate.
