Greetings from the Friendly Lake Eufaula Area Supporters aka FLEAS.
The April 25 meeting was held at the Lakeview home of Wanda Graham. High Tea was served to 30 members present all wearing “high tea” attire, adorning beautiful hats and gloves.
The hostesses Wanda, Jeannie, Georgia, Susan and Margaret prepared and served traditional English High Tea menu: sandwiches of chicken salad, cucumber, quiche, scones, petit fours, spritz cookies, custard, chocolate candy and much more.
The tables were elegantly decorated with china, table linens and napkins. The food was served on gold-tiered trays, in a candle lit room, along with an assortment of flavored teas.
After dining, a brief business meeting was conducted by President Kay Rogers. Excursions to Reba’s Place and Van Buren train ride with lunch were discussed. The Scholarship Chair, Iris Harp and her committee, will be meeting to select the 2023 Irene VanSandt $2,000 scholarship recipient. The scholarship was available to Eufaula, Checotah and Canadian senior students.
The May meeting will be on May 30, not the usual 4th Tuesday of the month to accommodate the dynamic guest speaker, Lori Fulbright from Channel 6 News.
All FLEAS members can bring a friend; lunch will be served for the standard fee. RSVP to your caller.
