County GOP to meet
By LYNELLE MARIE MEDLEY COUNTY CHAIRPERSON

The McIntosh County GOP has had lots of exciting events occurring and would love to have all patriots standing with us. We have recently completed a precinct letter campaign, so if you received a letter from us, we want to hear from you!

Our meetings are on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm, but we alternate communities.

The meeting this month will be held on Oct. 17 at the Checotah library.

In the odd months we meet at Eufaula and in the even months we meet at Checotah. We hope to make it as easy as possible for as many McIntosh County citizens to participate in their party business as possible.

The first annual Mc-Intosh County GOP Patriot Retreat occurred over the weekend of 9/29-10/1 — we had 75 individuals in attendance from approximately 40 families representing about 20 counties across Oklahoma, so great turnout for our first retreat!

The families had a wonderful time getting to know one another the whole weekend. We grilled and had a blazing bonfire out at Arrowhead to kick off our retreat on Friday night, had a full day of fellowship at Xtreme RV Resort, which included delicious food (including a huge charcuterie board), professional training, and then a fun night of speakers (including OKGOP Vice Chairman Wayne Hill) and awards complete with a silent auction which even boasted prize bull semen! We ended our retreat with a rousing lakeside service led by The Honorable John Bennett with worship performed by artist Aaron Michaels. We are already looking forward to next year!

In county business, McIntosh County GOP On Fire has passed a number of pertinent resolutions including a resolution leading the charge towards Election Integrity, another resolution addressing the political persecution of Donald J. Trump, and yet another which shows our support for State Superintendent Ryan Walters. We plan to work to pass these resolutions at the state level at our State Committee Meeting in Broken Arrow on Oct 14th as well as send these on to our state and federal legislators in an effort to see some changes made at those levels of governance.

Remember, it all begins with the people at the precinct level, so it’s very important YOUR voice is heard!

In other news, we currently have an AR15 drawing which will be held on Dec 2nd at the SantaLand Bazaar. If you are interested in tickets, please email mcintoshgop@ gmail.com, contact one of our members or visit our page on Facebook. Hope to see you at the meeting on 10/17, we will have Congressman Josh Brecheen’s representative (Joshua Hildabrand), McIntosh County Commissioner (District 2) Monty Grider, Senator Roger Thompson, and Paul Palmer as our speakers. Light refreshments will be served.
