Eufaula Ironheads shutout Valliant 49-0
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR,

The Eufaula Ironheads (62, 5-0 2A-6) made quick work of Valliant as they cruised to a 49-0 road victory. The Ironheads were led by sophomore quarterback Ledger Folsom who led Eufaula to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and added three more touchdowns in the second quarter to extend the Ironheads’ score to 35-0 at halftime.

The Ironheads defense played their best game of the season in all phases as Valliant had no answer to score and failed in everyway to contain Folsom and the Eufaula offense.

The Ironheads defense held Valliant to just 64-total offensive yards while Eufaulas of- fense racked up 383-total offensive yards.

Eufaula defensive linemen Draven Gragg, Carson Luna and Rashon Watts dominated their opponents on the line of scrimmage.

Folsom was 7-of 21 for 184 yards and two touchdowns and also rand for 19-yards with a score. Folsom had several targets tom throw to in Peter Lee, Kaden Rice, Maddox Bridges and Ke’Onte Youngblood.

Peter Lee scored the first Eufaula touchdown on a 34-yard carry followed by a Gavin Watkins short yardage touchdown run to finish the first quarter.

Foilsom scored on a 17-yard run to open the second quarter. Eufaula used long successful drive to score as Lee capped one off with a 3-yard touchdown. Lee had 10 carries for 113-yards with two touchdowns and a 21yard catch.

The Ironheads went to air for their next score as Kaden Rice caught 34-yard touchdown to end the half 35-0.

Eufaula scored their sixth touchdown when Lee sliced the Valliant defense for a 21-yard touchdown. The Ironheads ended the game when Kotyn Lane scored on a 5-yard touchdown to seal the 49-0 victory.

Bryan Lynn was perfect on six PAT’s.

“We did a great job of controlling the line of scrimmage. Our defense played extremely well. I was very proud of the effort we saw tonight. We still have work to do as a team but we’re starting to come together on both sides of the football. We’re still young but the guys are playing hard and I’m proud of what we did tonight,” Eufaula head coach Larry Newton said.
