February F.L.E.A.S. News

February was a month of much celebration.

The January annual Founders Day recognition had to be postponed due to weather conditions on meeting day.

The February meeting was held at the VFW Tuesday, Feb. 27. The past presidents in attendance were recognized for their continued contribution and support to the organization with lunch and a beautiful long stem rose.

There were seven guests present and three joined the group.

We are excited to share the $2,000 Irene Van Sandt (F.L.E.A.S. FOUNDER) scholarship applications are available at Eufaula, Canadian and Checotah High Schools.

The scholarship committee, led by Iris Harp, is looking forward to getting lots of contenders.

The hostesses, Jennie, Georgia, Sondra and Stella beautifully decorated the tables for an early St. Patrick’s Day theme.

President Kay Rogers was not able to join us, she was recovering from Covid and the flu.

After lunch was served by the VFW ladies the group played bingo. The proceeds from the bingo were deposited into the Scholarship Fund.

F.L.E.A.S. is always looking to make new friends and invite all women to come to a meeting to check us out.

The business meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of each month. A $12 lunch is served, and a fun activity or guest speaker follows.

If you are new to the lake community or are just looking to meet new friends and spend a day out, come check out this fun group.

The group also has card days, bunco, crafts and outings.

To reserve a spot for lunch or for more information call Kay Rogers at 405-202-9874 or visit our Facebook page F.L.E.A.S. 2023 +.

Next meeting is March 26. Social hour is at 10 a.m. Our business meeting is at 11 a.m. at the VFW, Highway 9 Eufaula.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!
