Eufaula Lady Ironheads cruise to win over Quinton
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR

The Eufaula Lady Ironheads (9-4-1) cruised to a 12-2 win over Quinton on Friday. Quinton started fast and put two runs on the Lady Ironheads in the first inning. But Eufaula answered the call with a six run inning in the second inning. Senior Allie Anderson, who smashed a pitch for a home run that drove in three, led the scoring.

Eufaula extended their lead in the third when Makayla Harjo singled and a single by Emma Lovett, and a line out by Anderson. The scoring continued for the Lady Ironheads as they added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on five hits. Kate Pippenger hit a solo homerun to center field, and Rayleigh Peterson singled, scoring a run.

“We have to continue to play up to our capabilities. I thought we did a good job of limiting errors and we did an outstanding job hitting the ball today. There are still a lot of ball games left to play and we need to continue to compete at a high level,” Eufaula head coach Ryan Green said.

Makayla Harjo earned the win for Eufaula. She surrendered five hits and two runs over four innings with one strikeout. The Lady Ironheads tallied up 17 hits in the game. Kambry Williams led the team at the plate going 3-for-3, Anderson 1-for-3 with three RBIs, Pippenger 2-for-3 with an RBI, Gabby Noriega 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Peterson 2-for-3 with an RBI and Harjo went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

On Tuesday Eufaula caged the Okemah Tigers 12-4 and shutout Spiro on Thursday 7-0.

Kate Pippenger was outstanding at the plate against Spiro as she collected three hits. She tripled in the third inning, doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning and had two RBIs.

Kadie Jo Tidwell drove in four runs to help lead Eufaula to a 12-4 win over Okemah. Avery Williams went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Allie Anderson 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and Rayleigh Peterson went 1-for-1 with a run scored and an RBI.
