Stilwell ends Lady Ironheads’ season
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR

The Eufaula Lady Ironheads (19-9-1) saw their season come to an end in District 5A play at Stilwell on Thursday after the Lady Indians shut out Eufaula 7-0. Stiwell led 3-0 after the third inning after scoring a pair of runs in the first inning and adding another in the third and slowly continued to play great defense and limited the Lady Ironheads’ ability to score.

Eufaula pitcher Makayla Harjo took the loss for the Lady Ironheads. She went seven innings, surrendering seven runs (six earned) on 12 hits, with zero strikeouts and walking three. Gabby Noriega, Kate Pippenger, Avery Williams and Elaina Monroe all had one hit for the Lady Ironheads.

In game two, Eufaula shut out Roland 16-0. Senior Kambry Williams went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs and three runs scored. Gabby Noriega was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Kate Pippenger 1-for-4 with two runs scored and Rayleigh Peterson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored.

In game one, the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs dominated Eufaula 152. The Bulldogs came out hot, scoring six runs in the first inning, three in the second and two runs scored in the third inning. Eufaula battled back with a run scored in the third as Emma Lovett stole home which was set up with a single from Kambry Williams.

Maddie Ballard stole home in the fourth inning after Stilwell hung four more runs on the scoreboard to seal the 15-2 win.

“I thought we played well most of the season, especially defensively. We just never really got our bats going like we would have liked to. It was a fun year and a fun group and we’re definitely going to miss this special group of seniors,” Eufaula head coach Ryan Green said.
