Oklahoma State’s 2023-24 Big 12 Athlete of the Year Nominees

The 2023-24 Big 12 Athlete of the Year nominees will be featured in alphabetical order by school starting Monday, June 17 through Tuesday, June 25 at 10 a.m. CT and 2 p.m. CT.

Each institution nominated one male and one female athlete of any classification that competed for their institution during the 2023-24 school year. Student-athletes were required to be in good academic standing and had to be from a leaguesponsored sport.

The 14 schools that competed during the 2023-24 academic year are eligible.

The winners will be announced Wednesday, June 26. Stay tuned to Big12Sports.com and the league’s social media platforms to see the rest of the candidates.

This afternoon’s featured candidates are Oklahoma State’s Ollie Gordon II and Lexi Kilfoyl.

Oklahoma State Male Athlete of the Year Candidate Ollie Gordon II, Football Jr., Fort Worth, Texas Accomplishments

• Won the 2023 Doak Walker Award, Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award and was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year (coaches and AP) while being selected as a unanimous All-American.

• One of just three players to earn unanimous All-Big 12 Honors while receiving more votes for the Heisman Trophy than any other running back in the country to finish seventh overall in the voting.

• Led the nation in rushing yards (1,732), yards from scrimmage (2,062), 100-yard games (9), 250-yard games (2) and carries of at least 20 yards (21), 30 yards (14), 40 yards (7) and 70 yards (2).

• Served as a Fall 2023 Stillwater YMCA food delivery volunteer.

Oklahoma State Female Athlete of the Year Candidate Lexi Kilfoyl, Softball Gr., Land O’ Lakes, Florida Accomplishments

• One of three finalists for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award and was a First Team All-America selection by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, Softball America and D1Softball.

• Earned the 2024 Big 12 Pitcher of the Year award unanimously.

• Had a league-leading and ranked fourth nationally with a 1.20 earned run average while having a Big 12 best 26 wins, which were the sixth highest in the country.

• A two-time NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete and was chosen to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Softball First Team.
