Lady Ironheads perfect on the season
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR

Senior Kate Pippenger drove in four runs on three hits to lead Eufaula (3-0) past the Roland Lady Rangers 13-3 on Thursday. Eufaula has outscored their first three opponents 33-4. Freshman pitcher Leah Green earned the win and struck out an impressive 10 batters on the day. Green allowed just six hits and three runs over seven innings while walking four. Eufaula tallied 15 hits in the game as Rayleigh Peterson went 4-for-5 while Jadence Efurd and Leah Green each collected two hits.

“This team just keeps playing hard. We have some great leadership on this team and they are coming together as a team with each game we play,” Eufaula head coach Ryan Green said.

Eufaula started the season off on Tuesday with a 12-1 win over Vian. Pitcher Leah Green was fantastic as she had a great game for the Lady Ironheads. Green tallied up 12 strikeouts to just two hits in six innings with one walk, while going 4-for-4 batting and scoring three times.

Senior Kadie Tidwell put Eufaula up 1-0 in the first inning, before the Lady Ironheads extended the lead to 5-0 in the second. Briley Gragg and Rayleigh Peterson both drove in two runs while Kate Pippenger and Hannah Needham finished with three hits and Jana Hickman ended with two.

On Friday Eufaula shut out Muldrow 8-0. Senior Maddie Ballard led Eufaula at the plate. She doubled, scoring two runs in the first inning. Leah Green also singled, scoring a run and Jana Hickman drew a walk, scoring a run to take a 4-0 lead. Senior Kadie Jo Tidwell hammered a pitch for a double in the second inning to take a 5-0 lead. Rayliegh Peterson has really stepped up in her game as she sent a pitch deep to give Eufaula a 7-0 lead in the third inning.

Leah Green earned the win from the pitcher’s circle as she gave up just one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking three. Senior Jadence Efurd led the team at the plate going 2-for-3, Rayliegh Peterson and Maddie Ballard each drove in two runs.
