By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR

The Checotah Lady Wildcats (13-6 as of press time) struggled at the plate on Tuesday as they fell to Broken Bow 10-2. Checotah would answer the call as Kami Hamm sent a pitch deep for a double that scored a run and a sacrifice bunt by Sidney Hamilton that scored a run to tie the game 2-2. Broken Bow would break the tie with a single in the bottom of the fifth, 3-2. They would extend their lead in the sixth inning as they put seven runs on the board.

K. Williams singled, scoring a pair of runs and Carny smashed a pitch for a home run to the left field that scored two runs, Brantly doubled, scoring two runs and Beth Evans singled, scoring one run.

Hailey Prince took the loss for Checotah from the pitcher’s circle. Prince went six innings, allowing 10 runs (seven earned) on 13 hits, striking out nine and walking six.

Kami Hamm 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI, Aurora Madewell 1-for-3, Shaelynn Casey 1-for-3 and Sidney Hamilton 1-for-2 with an RBI.

In game two on Tuesday, Broken Bow swept Checotah 12-2 in five innings. Broken Bow started the game off with a homerun that scored two runs. They added four more runs in the third inning when they stole home, scoring two runs, hit a single, scoring a run and Hailey Brantley connected on a double that scored a run to take a 6-0 lead.

However, the Lady Wildcats would battle back as Shyanne Madewell hit a homerun that scored two runs to cut the lead 6-2. Broken Bow would not be denied as they scored three runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to win 12-2.

Shaelynn Casey took the loss for Checotah. Casey pitched four innings, surrendering nine runs (eight earned) on 10 hits, striking out four and walking two.

Broken Bow tallied 13 hits. Shyanne Madewell led the Lady Wildcats going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Kami Hamm went 1-for-2, Aurora Madewell 1-for-2 and Sydnie West was 1-for-2.
