McIntosh County GOP News
By LYNELLE MEDLEY CHAIRMAN

McIntosh County GOP is gearing up for our next meeting where we will be partnering with The Freedom Brigades to address and attack the hottest topic in the county these days wind turbines.

Many, if not all, of the GOP members and hopefully at least a few of our elected representatives are wholeheartedly against the wind turbine agenda. We are working on a multipronged action plan to fight them but we cannot do this alone. We hope to stand in the gap with the other residents of the county who feel the same so all of us can help one another.

The meeting will be at the VFW on November 21.

We have a number of speakers who will be teaching us how to fight back and keep McIntosh county beautiful and wind turbine free. This meeting is open to ALL citizens of the county, we do not care what your political affiliation is — all we care about is that you wish to keep our beautiful pristine shoreline, farms and ranches unsullied and free of equipment which will mar the landscape and quite possibly destroy so much of what makes our county one of the best places to live in the state of Oklahoma.

Currently the companies have us slated for the tallest wind turbines in the NATION at 720 feet. This will disrupt the wildlife (birds), our weather patterns (they disperse the clouds!) and leave us open to a great deal of damage to our soil and grazing lands.

We will have a $5 chili dinner (including chips, soda, and dessert) that starts at 6 p.m. — this is completely optional. Speakers will begin at 6:30 p. m. and we have a highly experienced lineup for you. There will also be light refreshments available for free to all.

Again EVERYONE is welcome, this is NOT a Republican issue, it is an issue of preserving our way of life for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren. In addition, we have a number of our members along with a large group in Hanna, who are literally taking the fight to city hall — we hope you will join them every Monday morning at the county commissioner’s meeting at 8 a.m. They would welcome reinforcements!

Don’t forget on December 12, we will have our annual Christmas party, but this time we will be opening it to the public and hope that you will join us — we would be honored to have an opportunity to get to know each of you. Perhaps, with God’s favor, we will have much to celebrate. More details will be shared over the coming weeks! We are looking forward to seeing you there!
