Prof. West, of Muskogee, has opened Tuckabatchee hall and will teach dancing. Class will meet every Tuesday and Saturday evening from 7 p.m. till 9 p.m. After 9 p.m. the hall will be open to the public. Dancers will be welcome provided they behave as ladies and gentlemen. Today has been set apart as a day of thanksgiving for the blessings of the year and if there is a people on earth who have occasion to be thankful they reside in the new state of Oklahoma, and particularly in this section of the commonwealth.

The crops have been bountiful and are nearly all garnered into the storehouse or converted into cash.

John Storms, well-known farmer residing southeast of this city, had an experience last week which he will not soon forget. Mr. Storms was busily engaged in plowing some land and glancing down as the plow turned over the soil noticed a large snake go under the furrow.

On his next trip through the field he noticed the head sticking through the earth and using a club killed the reptile. After pulling the snake from under the soil much to his surprise found that he had killed a large rattlesnake.

The reptile measured 6 feet, 1 inch in length and 8 Vi inches in circumference and had 9 rattles and 1 button. Mr. Storms skinned the snake and has the same on exhibit at his home.
