Isn titfiumy

I absolutely love the turning of the leaves in the fall, but isn’t it funny that they turn the most vibrant color as they prepare to die and fall back to the ground from which they came? The fall season seems to go so quickly every year and I struggle to capture it on camera yet I still stand in awe of its splendor each time.

Though I love watching the leaves fall, isn’t it funny I despise when they pile up around the doors and the fence line? So I rush to mulch them with the mower one last time, but isn’t it funny, I’ll miss them when they are gone?

Isn’t it funny how the little things that bring us joy and contentment, can also bring us so much stress and displeasure?

Isn’t it funny how the seasons are a lot like our lives, ever changing? Spring is like a new baby in our lives. It buds and bears its fruit. There’s so much excitement and wonder, just as there is with the vibrant green grass budding on the once barren landscape.

Yet isn’t it funny that along with that newborn baby, comes a lot of sleepless nights, dirty diapers and worry if you’re even doing everything right.

Then summer breaks away in its splendor with sunny days, warm waters to swim in and more hours of sunlight to enjoy the longer days. However, isn’t it funny that summer has its downfalls too, like being too hot or being too dry because there’s not enough rain? The grass flourishes due to summer heat but yet it also withers in the heat for the lack of what it needs.

Summer seems to resemble our lives in our youth or in our prime. Yet many young people still search for more, while others burn out on their jobs or leave their marriages in the scorching sun, as they look for an oasis that they will never find because it is only a mirage. However, isn’t it funny but we let go of what we have to grasp something that’s already changing too.

Because fall is ever fleeting as I said before. It’s more like the middle-aged man or woman trying to hold onto their youth and missing the reason for the changing of each season and the wisdom it brings us all.

Finally, winter arrives and at the first glimpse of the snowcapped mountains it looks inviting. However, isn’t it funny that as you step outside you feel the cutting cold wind and it sends chills down your spine? You try to keep up with the snow falling all around you, but soon you realize you move a lot slower now. Isn’t it funny as your body aches from the coldness it feels, not just physically but mentally? You try to remember the beauty of all the seasons before this one – spring, summer and of course, the breathtaking fall. But now each season is just part of your memories fading into a snow drift with night eventually closing its eyes and you resting under a blanket of fresh fallen snow.

Life, isn’t it funny, how quickly the seasons change as one life ends, and another life begins?
