Jake Paul wins ‘PILLOW FIGHT’ over Mike Tyson

Jake Paul wins ‘PILLOW FIGHT’ over Mike Tyson

Friday night’s heavyweight boxing match between champion Jake Paul and Mike Tyson was nothing more than boxing propaganda. Just the size of the boxing gloves could tell anyone who has been in the boxing ring before that no one was going to land a serious blow. In fact, the only serious blow the fight landed was hurting the sport of boxing.

I have seen sparring in gyms more exciting than Friday night’s fight. Whatever happened to the glory days of boxers like Thomas Hearns, Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, George Foreman, Mohammad Ali, Tommy Morrison and a young Mike Tyson? At least you knew there were going to be punishing blows landing by all fighters. Paul and Tyson only managed to sweat a lot.

Of course the money was a major factor with Paul getting $40 million and Tyson receiving $20 million and don’t forget Tyson saying Paul was a great boxer in a post-fight interview. For $20 million I would say whatever they wanted me to say. And let’s not forget the millions of Netflix subscribers that couldn’t watch the match because of an overload issue. Don’t hold your breath waiting for a return.

The only thing great about Friday night’s card was the female match between Amanda Serrano and champion Katie Taylor. It was fantastic with Taylor winning. Hopefully this will be a wake-up call to the boxing industry that the fans deserve a real fight with normal gloves and fighters that want to win and not just get paid.

1-2-3 break.
