Jerry Melton Creel

Jerry Melton Creel, of Pierce, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, at the age of 86. He was born Monday, Nov. 22, 1937, in Lawton, Oklahoma to John Marvin Creel and Norma Carolyn Canada Creel.

Jerry graduated from Latta High School in 1956.

He worked at Lockheed in Ada, Ameron Pipe Company in Nigeria and across the nation before retirement.

Jerry married Ruth Ann Hudson Nov. 5, 2013, at Brush Hill Baptist Church. He was a member of Lighthouse Christian Center in Eufaula. Jerry loved fishing and spending time with his buddies, but he especially loved going to church and being around his church family. Jerry was loved by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerry Michael Creel; grandson, Joshua Creel; and brothers, Jack and Roy Creel.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann; sister, Lahonda Sutton and her husband Delton; grandson, Christopher Creel and his wife, Madeleine; great grandchildren, Dawson Little, Mason Creel, Joselynn Creel and Joey Creel. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other extended family and lifetime of friends.

Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, at Lighthouse Christian Center in Eufaula with Pastor John Parish ministering. Committal prayers and interment followed at Pierce Cemetery under the personal direction of John Garrett. Jeff Sutton, Andy Creel, Mike Casady, Cary Gerth, Justin Sutton, Christopher Creel and Tracy Holloway served as Casket Bearers.

Dave Shelton, Bill Cindle, Rick Machak, Dave Throtmorton, Jerry Davis, Don Robertson, Walt Sadlowski, Jr. Silverthorne, John Creel and Lance Creel were Honorary Casket Bearers.
